scope of work
our team were tasked by East Manchester Library to replace a broken front window, a large double-glazed unit measuring 2965mm x 2060mm.
on investigation, we discovered the damage was due to a silver solar-control window film, incorrectly applied to the existing glass.
challenges faced
the repair presented a significant challenge given the window's considerable size and height, plus its position situated over 10 feet above ground level.
to safely address these circumstances, we arranged specialised lifting equipment for both removal and installation.
additionally, to minimise disruption, we coordinated the project during library closure hours – and so managing subcontractor hours and availability added further logistical complexity to this quick turnaround project.
outcome
the successful replacement not only enhanced the library's aesthetics and safety but also demonstrated our versatility in handling specialised installations.
this project served as a valuable showcase of our capabilities, earning the trust of a new client seeking reliable repairs and window installation services carried out to tight deadlines.
